personal mission

why happyknife?

the ones familliar with me know I like to spend time in the kitchen.
even more so when there are
sharp knives at hand.
it even got to the point where I pack a few of my own knives on holiday.

a friend introduced me to
sharpening a long time ago.

since then I maintain my own kitchen knives by sharpening them
on traditional
Japanese whetstones.

polishing is done by leather strop.

as time went on I stared getting requests from friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, (...).
would you sharpen mine as well? of course I will!
the
reactions were so pleasant that I thought to myself...
it makes me happy, it make others happy.
maybe I can make even more people
happy?

the process is honest, artisanal and sustainable.
in addition to my office job, where I use my head a lot,
I find it to be a very nice (almost meditative) occupation.
